| I was at Cornucopia in St Mary, Ky from 1979-11 to 1982-09 I helped with the programs there and work with Bernie the caretaker/ building maintenance person. One My major projects there was to paint an old rusty water tower on the campus, with a hill, a heart and the sun.This was a land mark for any one that came to Cornucopia. The experience living there was very powerful for me. I still carry the basic teaching with me — to love everyone (including myself) with out any conditions. I have been a Quaker since 1992 here in Evanston, IL Quakers and their withness go together well with living love. Tapped the Links item to see what other neat stuff he knew about, that I didn’t, and there was news about LL and the Binegar workshop. Wow. My prayers were answered. The interference of work in getting to Binegar was overcome at the 11th hour allowing me to participate in one of the greatest experiences of my life. | I was living at Cornucopia in St. Mary, Ky around 1979— 1983, of course at that time I was one of the "kids", about 12-14 years old — of course one of the "older kids". When Cornu closed, we stayed in KY and finished high school, went on to college and graduate school……long story…but still remember the "family". | Last night I remembered my days at the living love center and I thought of Ken. Then I looked him up and shed tears to see he had died a while ago. I can still see and hear him vividly in my mind. I walked by the center on La loma, in Berkeley, and was looking around and wondering what it was all about. EST was big at that time but it did not appeal to me, this was about 1973. I eventually got closer and somebody invited me in. I wanted to stay I loved the energy of the place and so I went to a introductory workshop. I was one of the four people in the first twelve steps intensive. It was wonderful. It was the first time, as a strictly brought up Irish Catholic, that I felt some hope of a light at the end of the tunnel. I was divorced with two children. For three years I attending the center and took as many intensives as I could afford. I loved Ken I can always picture his soft hands leaning on the arms of the wheelchair and how he would lift one of them gently. His sweet eyes and lovely silky hair, well taken care of by his many devotees. I introduced one of my friends Kathy Gustin to him and she became a resident for a while. I knew he had left the planet, before I read the words. I lived in Alameda at that time, later moved to Ashland, Oregon and only once visited the Coos Bay, I had a yearning to see Ken again, he could remember me always because of being one of the four at the workshop. | I never will forget my time at Cornucopia. It was Nov. of 1978
and the Opening-up workshop came to Miami. 1979-06 I
went to St. Mary, Ky. for a 30 day program. My life was in crisis. The
program helped me tremendously and at the most appropriate time. In fact, one of
the "minor" benefits was that although I smoked cigarettes right up to
the time I drove into the driveway, I have never wanted to smoke again, after I
left and went home. I basically had the opportunity to detox from nicotine. I
also had the opportunity to DETOX from all the bad programming, but
admittedly not as successfully.
I am sure there are many stories like mine. People who had significant personal problems and found that Living Love was the right path for them. My life was surely blessed by the experience I had at Cornucopia, by the Handbook and by the relationships I formed with people there and subsequently when I returned home. I was trained to be a trainer along with Cinnamon Hopkins, Carole, Wade, Romy,
Lee McFadden & several others way back in Berkely when it was the Living
Love Center. I am very interested in attending the reunion 2001,
if you will send me more literature on it. I am desperately looking for Cinnamon
Hopkins. She used to live in Tempe, AZ. but she got married & the last phone
