Disrespecting American Soldiers

Whenever an American soldier is killed in the Iraq war, he is honoured as a hero, as if he were a true soldier who gave his life to defend his country as hundreds of thousands did in World War II. But this soldier has utterly nothing in common with the brave defenders of freedom in WW II. Today’s soldier has the morals and motivation as of perverted serial killer.

Why do I say this?

I explained an another essay why all Americans in Iraq are international war criminals subject eventually to prosecution and life imprisonment. I don’t find war criminals particularly deserving of respect. If you are an American soldier, and you are wondering why am requesting that everyone spit on you, read this essay to understand why. You deserve treatment no better than any other criminal on death row especially when you brazenly brag about your capital crime and encourage others to follow in your footsteps.
I explained an another essay why most Americans in Iraq are terrorists. I don’t find terrorists particularly deserving of respect.
Today’s soldier is not defending his country. Iraq had no WMDs. Iraq had no weapons at all with to threaten the USA. Bush Sr. disarmed it the end of the Gulf War. Iraq had not managed to hit a single plane as the US bombed Iraq between the two wars killing between one and two million Iraqis, mostly children. Today’s soldier is not fighting to defend, but to conquer and plunder.
The excuse that the war was justified to depose Saddam on altruistic motives makes no sense when you realise Saddam was captured in 2003. The war did not even pause for an instant. The war was not about Saddam.
Today’s soldier kills mostly defenseless civilians and most of them children. He excuses his brutality as collateral damage.
The motive for joining the army then can’t be defending your country. If the pay is terrible, why would anyone sign up. Very simple. Enlistees can kill people, mostly women and children. They can rape, murder and torture with almost no chance of legal prosecution. They are motivated by sadistic lust no matter what other crap they spout as a cover. They are like Mr. Brooks in the movie, kind family men, who have a itch they cannot suppress to terrify, torment, torture and slaughter. Any normal person when given the chance to slaughter children is horrified. Our young soldier leaps at the chance like a trout going for a grub. Any normal person, when told he ought to napalm children to death demands to know why. He will search for any possible way to avoid such mayhem. He will distrust those who ask him to commit such an atrocity. He will check and double check before considering such an act. Yet our young soldier can hardly wait. He does not even need a reason. He is horny for blood, anyone’s blood, though preferably non-white, non-Christian blood. He is overjoyed the government is giving him a license to act out his bigotry and sadism. He deserves no respect for indulging his dark side at the expense of people who did him or his country no harm.
In this war, American soldiers routinely torture all detainees. The use Saddam’s own torture chambers and instruments, but torture on such a scale, they had to build even more dungeons. Nobody has tortured on this scale since the Inquisition. This is all out in the open. Nazi soldiers could claim they had no idea what was happening to the Jews. American soldiers have no such excuse.
In this war, Americans openly use banned weapons such as land mines, napalm, white phosphorus and cluster bombs and they use them on children. In WW II, even Hitler avoided the use of such weapons.
Some defend the soldiers on the grounds they are stupid. They say the soldiers imagine they are taking revenge against those who perpetrated 9/11. I don’t buy that. It is like excusing Nazis for killing Jews on the grounds they believed the propaganda. If a man is contemplating murder, it is up to him to double check it is justified. It is immediately obvious to anyone who does the tiniest bit of reading that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Further, Saddam and bin Laden were arch enemies. If he was not clued in before he got to Iraq, it surely becames obvious he was hurting kids once he got there. Nazis had the excuse they would have been shot had they resisted once they realised they were in the wrong. Americans have no such excuse. They are all moral cowards, with a very few exceptions, such as Leutenant Watada.
There is no bravery in this war. It is preposterously one sided. The Americans have the latest most expensive weapons. The Iraqis have only IEDs, home-made bombs. American slaughter Iraqis by the tens of thousands, while hiding behind high tech armour, like shooting fish in a barrel. The motivations of the American soldiers are a sick as any thing you have ever seen in a Hollywood movie. They have the power to torment the Iraqis, steal their resources and enslave them, and they utterly unscrupulous in exercising that overwhelming power. It is a case of absolute power corrupting absolutely.

American Soldiers are Just Serial Killers

So an American soldier today is just a serial killer smart enough not likely to get caught, like the Kevin Kostner character in the movie Mr. Brooks. Please excuse me if I don’t pretend to grieve when one of these men (or women) bites the big one. He got damn well what he deserved. May he rot in hell for eternity for his crimes against the children of Iraq. He is not a soldier. He has nothing in common with the men who fought in WW II. He has much more in common with a hired killer. It is revolting the way people treat him with the respect as if he were truly a soldier. That false undeserved respect is the ultimate disrespect for those who did give their lives for a just cause.

Natural Justice

When the military screws soldiers who come back disabled, or I hear of their psychological problems, I rejoice at the natural justice of the universe. I think of the misery these guys created in Iraq to people who did absolutely nothing to provoke the malice. When one of these guys is killed I give a sigh of relief that another serial killer has been removed from the gene pool. It is sad when a child loses a father, but that soldier was busy killing other kids' fathers, so it is good thing when somebody finally stops his killing spree.
