If the Nazis had won WW II, the post-war German politicians would have argued for ‘moving forward’ and ‘avoiding a witchhunt’ because too many powerful people were involved in the genocide of the Jews, just as as today American politicians argue for ‘moving forward’ and ‘avoiding a witchhunt’ because so many Americans were involved in torture and other war crimes.
