RTP
Real Time Protocol. A wrapper around a real time stream of video or audio data. It is delivered usually via UDP, which is faster than a socket, but which sometimes loses packets. It is commonly used to transmit surveillance video. There are a great many formats supported within RTP framing. RFC 1889 describes the protocol.
