The Java Control Panel. You can invoke it with: C:\Program Files\java\jre6\bin\javacpl.exe. You can also invoke it in the Windows Control Panel. Click Programs ⇒ Java. In it you configure which version of Java to use for Applets and which to use for Java Web Start. You can configure how you want the console to behave and how you want Java Web Start to behave.
