Character
a single letter of the alphabet, a piece of punctuation or a digit. Also the name of a class that boxes a single character as an Object. Character also contains complicated static methods isLowerCase, isUpperCase, isDigit and isLetterOrDigit ( isLetter || isDigit ). There are also methods to help you validate names in your Java coding: isJavaIdentifierStart and isJavaIndentifierPart. All these methods deal with the full Unicode complement of foreign language glyphs.

Character.isDefined lets you know if a slot in Unicode has been assigned a Glyph. Font. canDisplay gives a hint as to whether the character will render on screen.
