PowerQuest

Powerquest was bought out by Symantec. This is too bad. Powerquest was a family firm from Utah with a strong desire to produce quality products, not just make money. Powerquest makes a series of products for managing hard disks with Intel CPUs. The most famous is PartitionMagic. If you do a lot of fiddling with partitions setting up computers for people, or wish you could grow and shrink them on the fly, PartitionMagic is invaluable. It can also convert partitions between the various types. Includes support for DOS/Windows FAT16, Windows FAT32, Linux ext 2, Linux SWAP, NT NTFS, and OS/2 HPFS partitions.

They are good people. They pay attention when you email or phone them. Their products are solid, straightforward and bug free. Their products include:

PartitionMagic : partitions the hard drive on the fly and makes managing multiple operating systems easy. Includes BootMagic, a GUI style way to control with OS you want to boot next. BootMagic does not include command line control for fully automated reboots, e.g. to run a nightly script in a variety of operating system.
Drive Image Pro : allows you to create an exact hard-disk image for fast deployment, upgrades or backups.
ServerMagic : PartitionMagic for servers. Lets you upgrade a server and expand its partitions on the fly.
PowerQuest DataKeeper : automatically backs up data without user intervention.
SecondChance : reverses harmful or unwanted system changes.
Lost & Found : gives users the ability to recover deleted or damaged files, even after the drive is formatted.
EasyRestore : gives resellers or corporations the ability to provide a simple, one-step system recovery solution with the computers they sell or service.
Drive Image : creates a hard drive image file that can be used for backup or recovery.
DriveCopy : a fast way to copy one entire hard drive to another.
