plasma display
A way of manufacturing large flat colour displays. They currently cost in the order of $20,000.00 CAD . They can be 1.27 metres (4.17 ft) wide, with 1365x768 pixels, but are only 5.08 cm (2 in) thick. The colour is stunningly bright, clear and crisp. Eventually this technology will replace CRTs. It is essentially a giant array of tiny flourescent lights.
